This is a pretty good explanation of the Higgs Boson. (Not that I have the expertise to judge it, but it matches other stuff I’ve read and seems more accessible.)

I’m sure it’s a simplistic interpretation, but the picture of all the fields tempts me to wonder if space itself shouldn’t be considered just another field, or if the collections of fields that make up our universe aren’t just an accidentally close collection of planes, or branes, or something long those lines.

Very good, although as the last frame tells us, that’s only half the story. Perhaps not even half. What the heck *is* inertial mass anyway? And why does it have the same value as gravitational mass? And if gravity is a force between particles with mass, was there any gravity before Higgs symmetry breaking? And … we need more comics to explain.
