Because, it’s Star Wars.
I hope they don’t mess it up. JJ Abrams has a pretty good track record, so I’m hopeful.
Awesome – looking forward to it! Seems pretty early to have a trailer.
There’s something of a tradition for early “teaser” trailers, that just show enough to remind you that it’s coming. I remember the first Phantom Menace trailer. After 15 years (at the time) of no Star Wars, it was a major geek event.
I’m with Howie, I’m looking forward to it. When they started the theme song in the teaser, I got goosebumps, lol. I remember sitting in the theater watching the very first Star Wars in the spring of ’77. I was living in Washington, DC at the time. I also own the first vinyl of the soundtrack which I purchased when it was released for sale.
Thanks for sharing.

That first showing in ’77 was mind blowing. When I went to watch the movie, I had read a couple of the Marvel adaptation comics, but I automatically assumed the special effects and ship movements would look like all the sci-fi movies up to that point, slow and ponderous. The first 30 seconds of the movie told me that this was going to be something radically different.
Oh yes! I knew it was going to be amazing by the way it started off. They had me at the original opening crawl.
Makes you wonder what the crawl will convey with Episode VII.
Excited with anticipation

Not too sure about this. If I didn’t know what the plot was, this would mystify me. Still, the look is right . . .
“Because, it’s Star Wars.”
Really ‘SAP’, a bit understated don’t you think? – “Because, it’s [STAR WARS!]” – 🙂
