Because, it’s Star Wars.

I hope they don’t mess it up.  JJ Abrams has a pretty good track record, so I’m hopeful.

    1. There’s something of a tradition for early “teaser” trailers, that just show enough to remind you that it’s coming. I remember the first Phantom Menace trailer. After 15 years (at the time) of no Star Wars, it was a major geek event.

  2. I’m with Howie, I’m looking forward to it. When they started the theme song in the teaser, I got goosebumps, lol. I remember sitting in the theater watching the very first Star Wars in the spring of ’77. I was living in Washington, DC at the time. I also own the first vinyl of the soundtrack which I purchased when it was released for sale.

    1. That first showing in ’77 was mind blowing. When I went to watch the movie, I had read a couple of the Marvel adaptation comics, but I automatically assumed the special effects and ship movements would look like all the sci-fi movies up to that point, slow and ponderous. The first 30 seconds of the movie told me that this was going to be something radically different.
